Tel Aviv Police Launch New Task Force to Combat Crime in Arab Communities
In response to a recent surge in violent crime in Jaffa, the Tel Aviv police are establishing a specialized task force aimed at reducing crime within the Arab community. The decision follows a series of discussions led by Tel Aviv District Commander Daniel Hadad, who will oversee the new unit.
The task force will be composed of existing Tel Aviv district police officers, supplemented by reinforcements from the Border Police, without adding new personnel positions. A dedicated commander will lead the unit, which is set to operate for a defined period.
The unit's operations will focus on proactive intelligence-driven missions targeting criminal gangs and family feuds known to the police. Efforts will include increasing engagement with the local population and intervening at known criminal gathering points to disrupt ongoing violence and crime.
This initiative reflects the police's intensified commitment to addressing the escalating violence and crime in the Arab sector of Jaffa, aiming to restore public safety through focused and sustained enforcement actions.
