Bat Chen Sabag on her ex: “The meeting with Orna didn’t happen this time”
Television creator and dancer Idan Atiyas were the first contestants eliminated from “Dancing with the Stars.” While Sabag’s journey toward the perfect cha-cha came to an end, Amir Banai, the son of her legendary ex from the entertainment world, Orna Banai, continued in the competition.
In an interview after the elimination, Sabag praised the younger Banai: “He is my favorite to win.” Guy Pines, mako. Published: 10.06.26, 23:50 | Updated: 11.06.26, 09:47. Bat Chen Sabag, Orna Banai | Photo: Bat Chen Sabag: from Instagram, Orna Banai: from “Galit and Ilanit”
It is hard to make it all the way to the “Dancing with the Stars” stage and finish as the first eliminated contestants, but creator Bat Chen Sabag and the dancer beside her, Idan Atiyas, handled the sad moment well. Moments after the unexpected elimination, they told Guy Pines about the expectation they had for what would come next, and the missed surprises.
“We thought the journey would be longer, but we’re moving on. I’ll keep dancing with bent knees and the way I want, not ballroom. I hoped we would get further, we prepared some cool numbers that we had in the pipeline,” said Sabag.
The one who advanced to the next stage of the dance competition is Amir Banai, the son of Sabag’s ex, Orna Banai. Although we had eagerly awaited the longed-for meeting between the two, it was denied to us.
“You’ll have to wait for that,” Sabag laughed. “It didn’t work out this time, but you know Amir is my favorite to win, and in my opinion that’s what will happen for him.”
The day after the elimination, Sabag decided in advance to treat herself, and hopefully Atiyas too, though he did not take up the offer, to a vacation in Sinai. “I’m going to bring the sequins there, it was nice for me to play with that and with colors. I knew that when I was eliminated I would go on vacation. I had an amazing experience, I say thank you.”
Atiyas added: “I give her a 10, the best pairing they could have given me and I understood why they did it. I am grateful for every moment with her, in rehearsals and in life.”
