Massive Jaguar Found Hiding Under Clothesline in Brazilian Neighborhood Rescued Safely

A rare incident occurred this week in Foz do Iguaçu, southwestern Brazil, where a large adult male jaguar weighing approximately 75 kilograms was found trapped in a densely populated residential area. Locals first spotted the big cat hiding beneath a clothesline in a backyard, prompting immediate alarm and a call to security forces. Upon arrival, environmental police officers secured the entire area to ensure public safety and facilitate the rescue operation.

The complex rescue, successfully completed on Sunday morning, involved close cooperation between the Environmental Military Police, jaguar conservation experts from the "Onças do Iguaçu" project, and representatives from the "Bella Vista" biological shelter affiliated with Itaipu. The jaguar was safely tranquilized with darts and taken for a thorough veterinary examination.
