Hapoel Be'er Sheva Captain Miguel Vitor Extends Contract for 11th Season
Hapoel Be'er Sheva officially announced on June 30, 2026, that their captain Miguel Vitor will continue with the club for an 11th season. Vitor, one of the greatest players in the club's history, has been with Be'er Sheva since the 2016/17 season and has won three league titles and three cups with the team. The announcement was first reported by Sport 5.
Celebrating his 37th birthday on the day of the announcement, Vitor has also been naturalized as an Israeli citizen and earned 12 caps for the Israeli national team after previously representing Portugal's youth teams. In the most recent season, he served mainly as a backup center-back, making 16 appearances in the Israeli Premier League, including four starts. He participated in all stages of the season up to the State Cup final, where Be'er Sheva lost to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Vitor is expected to join the team's training camp later on the day of the announcement, continuing his long-standing leadership role under coach Ran Kojukh.
