Smotrich Ready to Establish Three Jewish Settlements in Northern Gaza Strip
Following a meeting on Monday evening with Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi, Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced that the Settlement Administration under his leadership at the Defense Ministry has completed preparatory work to establish three new settlements in the northern Gaza Strip. Smotrich stated that implementation can begin immediately once political approval is granted, urging Prime Minister Netanyahu to give the green light to "complete the mission and restore real security to southern residents."
Smotrich emphasized that the Israel Defense Forces currently control nearly 70% of Gaza's territory and argued for completing the conquest of the remaining area, defeating Hamas, and creating a belt of Jewish communities to serve as a security buffer for Sderot and surrounding border towns. He underscored his position that "where there is no settlement, there is no security" and vowed not to return to the pre-October 7 reality.
Mayor Alon Davidi thanked Smotrich for his efforts, expressing support for continuing the fight until the threat to Sderot and the border region is eliminated. Davidi highlighted the necessity of these actions to ensure the safety and security of local residents during this ongoing conflict period.
