Israeli Forces Uncover Large Iranian Drone Base in Southern Lebanon After Year and a Half

During the "Northern Arrows" operation about a year and a half ago, Israeli intelligence warned of the need to act against what was described as an "Iranian drone fortress" in Majdal Zoun, southern Lebanon. However, at that time, the Israeli Air Force Intelligence Directorate assessed that the site was inactive and contained no weapons, leading to the decision not to assign the 36th Division to capture the facility.

Only recently was the decision made to enter the site. When fighters from the Yahalom unit entered the complex, they discovered a massive tunnel system, command rooms, weapons warehouses, and dozens of Iranian drones. The site had remained hidden and underestimated by Israeli intelligence until its recent exposure and subsequent destruction by the IDF.

This revelation highlights the evolving intelligence assessments and the significant military infrastructure Iran has established in southern Lebanon, which Israel has now targeted and neutralized.
