Israeli Forces Kill Hamas Military Security Chief in Rafah Division
Israeli military and Shin Bet forces eliminated Ismail Masri, the military security chief of Hamas's Rafah division, last Tuesday. Masri was a senior figure in Hamas's southern Gaza intelligence and security apparatus, responsible for counterintelligence and military security aimed at restricting Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) operational freedom in the area. According to the IDF spokesperson, Masri actively worked on rebuilding and strengthening Hamas's military security network to directly target IDF soldiers and their activities in Gaza.
Earlier today, the IDF and Shin Bet announced a separate strike in central Gaza that killed three commanders of Hamas's naval police, including Mansour Sami Mahmoud Shehhat, the commander of the central camps' naval police. The three militants were traveling armed in a vehicle and posed a threat to Israeli forces deployed in the area, prompting the targeted attack.
These operations reflect ongoing Israeli efforts to disrupt Hamas's military capabilities and leadership in Gaza amid heightened tensions and conflict.
