Thirteen New Rabbis Certified in Family Purity Laws at Bnei Brak Seminary
At the Maorot seminary in Bnei Brak, 13 new rabbis were ceremoniously granted the 'Yoreh Yoreh' certification, authorizing them to issue halachic rulings on family purity laws. This milestone followed a rigorous series of theoretical and practical examinations under the guidance of Rabbi Baruch Okashi, the chief rabbi of Elad. The event was attended by prominent rabbinic figures including Rabbi Yehoram Yiftah, president of the seminary, and Rabbi Aviran Yitzhak Halevi, head of the Beit Midrash 'Beit Avi Tzemach' and Av Beit Din of Tel Aviv, who encouraged the new rabbis in their important role of upholding Jewish purity laws for future generations.
Rabbi Moshe Yiftah, director of Maorot and a member of the Modi'in Illit city council, highlighted the seminary's significant growth, noting that just last year in the month of Shevat, ten other rabbis were similarly certified. These rabbis now provide halachic guidance across all sections of the Shulchan Aruch to those seeking it. Rabbi Yiftah also announced the upcoming opening of a new training cycle for advanced Torah scholars to become certified in family purity laws, scheduled to begin in the coming winter.
The ceremony marked a quiet revolution within the Yemenite Jewish community, emphasizing the strengthening of halachic authority and education in this vital area of Jewish law. The event was documented and covered by Haredi media, underscoring its communal importance.
