22 New Rabbinic Instructors Ordained as Maayan Tahor Opens 8 New Branches in Rishon Lezion

The Maayan Tahor network of Torah study centers held a significant celebratory event in Rishon Lezion this week, marking the ordination of 22 new rabbinic instructors and the inauguration of eight new branches both within the city and beyond. The ceremony, attended by community rabbis and local residents, featured a festive banquet and was graced by leading Torah scholars.

The ordination followed a six-month period of weekly lessons led by the head of the study center, Rabbi Yanir Nasir, who continues the halachic tradition of his father, the late Rabbi Ovadia Yosef. The event's keynote address was delivered by the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Yosef, who praised the head of the study center and emphasized the unbroken chain of Torah transmission from Moses to Joshua and through subsequent generations, as outlined by Maimonides.

Additional speeches were given by prominent rabbis including Rabbi Baruch Shraga, the Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, Rabbi Eliyahu Madar, and community supporter Rabbi Chaim Bukeritz. The highlight of the evening was the completion of the study of the laws of purity, followed by spirited dancing led by renowned singer Ofir Salmon and his band in honor of the new instructors and Torah learners.

The event concluded with a strong sense of mission and excitement, expected to have a lasting impact on Torah education and halachic leadership in the coming years.
