Netanyahu Claims Defense Lawyer Wanted to Resign Over Unfair Trial Conditions

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the acceleration of his trial during a session at the Jerusalem District Court. He revealed that his defense attorney, Amit Hadad, had called him to say that he and his small team could not provide the defense Netanyahu deserved due to the overwhelming prosecution resources. Netanyahu said, "He wanted to resign out of a sense of justice. His team is very small, while the prosecution has hundreds of people." Netanyahu compared the frequency of court appearances, noting that criminal families appeared once a week and the submarine affair twice a week, implying his trial's pace was excessive. He criticized the comparison made by Hadad to another trial, calling it nonexistent and describing the situation as a "huge miscarriage of justice." After making these remarks, Netanyahu left the courtroom.
