Chairman of Margaliot Criticizes Lebanon Agreement as Ineffective and Superficial
Eitan Davidi, chairman of the Margaliot settlement, criticized the recent agreement with Lebanon in an interview with ynet, describing it as driven by emotion rather than rational strategy. He said the public is caught in a euphoric state, misreading the situation, and that the deal "is meant for the gut, not the head," ultimately leading nowhere.
Davidi acknowledged that while the agreement may sound appealing and give the Prime Minister something to boast about, it fails to deliver any real security improvements in northern Israel. He pointed out that the agreement was effectively settled in November 2024, with promises to disarm Hezbollah, yet no tangible progress has been made.
He further stated that although Lebanon desires peace, its government lacks the capacity to achieve results, calling it "a government incapable of delivering outcomes." Davidi’s remarks highlight skepticism about the practical impact of the deal on regional security and political stability.
