Charlotte Hornets Trade Miles Bridges to Phoenix Suns in Multi-Player Deal
The Charlotte Hornets completed a notable trade on Sunday, sending Miles Bridges to the Phoenix Suns along with a 2029 first-round draft pick and a 2027 second-round pick. In exchange, Charlotte received Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale, and a 2033 first-round pick. Bridges, who has been traded to the Suns multiple times in recent years, averaged 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game last season. Grayson Allen was one of the league's top three-point shooters last season, averaging 3.1 three-pointers per game, 16.5 points, 3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. Royce O'Neale, known for his defensive skills, contributed 9.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game.
Beyond adding two players to deepen their rotation, the Hornets' primary motivation was to clear salary cap space, now standing at $50.1 million below the cap, providing significant flexibility for future roster moves. Meanwhile, the Suns are set to field a starting lineup next season featuring Jalen Green, Devin Booker, Dillon Brooks, Miles Bridges, and Mark Williams.
