Hillel Melman Joins Hapoel Jerusalem Ahead of 2026/27 Season

Hapoel Jerusalem has strengthened its squad for the 2026/27 season by signing 21-year-old defender Hillel Melman from Ironi Modi'in. Melman, who played 35 matches and scored two goals last season in the National League, helped his former team avoid relegation. The club announced the signing on June 28, 2026, with an option to extend the contract for two additional years.

The club compared Melman stylistically to recent defensive signings Jonathan Lish and Tamir Haimovich and noted his previous experience with Hapoel Herzliya in the third division and youth development at Kfar Shalem.

In a related roster move, Hapoel Jerusalem released defender David Domjoni after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract. The club welcomed Melman as a promising young talent expected to contribute significantly in the upcoming season.
