Rabbi Eliezer Rot Crowned Community Leader in Bnei Brak Amid Humble Tribute to Rabbi Yitzchak Zilberstein

Last Saturday evening, a prestigious ceremony took place in the Kiryat Herzog neighborhood of Bnei Brak to crown Rabbi Eliezer Rot as the Mara d'Atra (chief rabbinic authority) and spiritual leader of the "Kerem Israel, Yeshiva Students" community. The event was attended by prominent Torah scholars, heads of yeshivas, and neighborhood rabbis who gathered to honor the new rabbi and bless him in his significant leadership role.

A particularly moving moment occurred when the event's host invited Rabbi Yitzchak Zilberstein, the rabbi of the Ramat Elchanan neighborhood and a member of the Council of Torah Sages, to speak. Rabbi Zilberstein is also the father-in-law of Rabbi Rot. The host praised Rabbi Zilberstein as the "posek hador" (decisor of the generation), but due to his great humility, Rabbi Zilberstein initially did not realize the compliment was directed at him. He looked around in surprise, thinking the host referred to another Torah giant at the head table. Only after attendees clarified the praise was meant for him did Rabbi Zilberstein approach the microphone to deliver his central address, captivating the large audience as usual.
