Senior Advisor Predicts Naftali Bennett Will Announce Political Retirement Within Two Weeks

Political strategist and campaign manager Nevo Cohen forecasted a bleak future for former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett during a radio interview on Galei Yisrael's "Petachy and Zamri B'am" program. Cohen stated that the political alliance between Bennett and Yair Lapid, under the "Together" party, is continuing to decline, with both leaders polling in single digits individually. He emphasized that Bennett's support is dropping more sharply than Lapid's, who has already been in the single digits.

Cohen further predicted that within the next two weeks, discussions will begin about the combined polling numbers of Bennett and Lapid falling into single digits, which could trigger a significant shakeup in the center-left political bloc. He boldly asserted that Bennett is expected to retire completely from politics soon. Cohen explained that Bennett's weakening poll numbers severely undermine his bargaining power against other influential figures in the bloc, such as former War Cabinet member Gadi Eizenkot.

Highlighting the political dynamics, Cohen noted there is no reason for Eizenkot to choose Bennett as his number two on any future electoral list given Bennett's current diminished standing. This analysis suggests a potential realignment within the center-left ahead of upcoming elections, with Bennett possibly exiting the political scene entirely in the near future.
