The controversy intensified after ESPN analyst Bobby Marks quoted an NBA analytics staffer describing Brown as only the seventh-best player on his own team. Brown responded sharply on social media, accusing modern analytics of undermining players and controlling narratives, asserting that no one on the court outperforms him on both offense and defense. He highlighted his record of winning more regular season and playoff games than any other player since entering the league ten years ago.
