19-Year-Old Killed and Another Seriously Injured in Tayibe Shooting Amid Rising Violence in Arab Communities

Bakar Nasirat, a 19-year-old, was fatally shot overnight in Tayibe, central Israel, while another young man was seriously wounded in the same incident. The police have launched an investigation, with initial indications pointing to a criminal motive. The emergency call was received by Magen David Adom's 101 hotline in the Yarkon area at 00:33. Paramedics transported both victims to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba, where Nasirat was pronounced dead after arriving in critical condition and undergoing prolonged resuscitation efforts. The second victim, a man in his twenties, remains hospitalized in serious condition but conscious.

Bakar Nasirat, a paramedic from Dourd Baarka, described the scene: "We found the victim unconscious, without pulse or breathing, with severe penetrating injuries. We provided advanced medical treatment including extended resuscitation before transporting him to the hospital in critical condition, where he was declared dead." This shooting adds to a disturbing trend of violence in Arab Israeli communities, with 137 people killed since the start of the year.

Recent related incidents include the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Ahmad Jaber in Jaffa on Thursday evening, who was shot outside a grocery store near Park HaMidron and later died at Wolfson Hospital in Holon. Another 15-year-old was moderately injured in that attack. Additionally, 19-year-old Asma Abu Ghanem was murdered in her car in the Jawarish neighborhood of Ramla the previous night; her mother was killed in 2010 and her father two years ago, highlighting a pattern of recurring violence in the region.
