Young Man Killed and Another Seriously Injured in Tayibe Shooting Amid Rising Violence
A 20-year-old man was fatally shot overnight Sunday in Tayibe during a violent incident, while another man in his twenties was seriously wounded. Both victims were found shortly after midnight by Magen David Adom paramedics. The first victim was unconscious, without pulse or breathing, and suffered severe penetrating injuries. Despite advanced medical treatment and prolonged resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead at Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba. The second victim was conscious upon evacuation and also received advanced medical care.
This shooting in Tayibe is part of a recent wave of deadly criminal incidents. On Thursday evening, 17-year-old Ahmad Jabrin was shot dead in a grocery store on Even Roshd Street in Jaffa. Another teenager with him was lightly injured and taken to Wolfson Hospital. The police have launched an investigation into the Jaffa shooting, assigning the case to the Ayalon District Crime Fighting Unit.
Following the Jaffa murder, Amir Badran, deputy mayor of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, sharply criticized the authorities, stating that the Arab community has long suffered from neglect and abandonment in addressing organized crime and illegal weapons. The ongoing violence highlights persistent challenges in law enforcement and community safety in these areas.
