First family core visits planned Nof settlement site in northern Samaria
Dozens of families set to move to the new settlement of Nof in northern Samaria visited the site for the first time on Tuesday with Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan. The visit was part of preparations for establishing new communities in the area, and the settlement can only be founded after government approval.
The group saw the land near the revived settlement of Ganim, held its first families' core meeting there, and began practical preparations for the new community. The article says the new settlements in northern Samaria are now in advanced stages of organization.
During the visit, Dagan told the families, "Remember this day, we are making history here together." He said Nof will become "a significant, large settlement, with a strong community, a central settlement in the renewed northern Samaria, a good neighbor to Ganim and Kadim, to the Dotan Valley and Sha-Nur." He also said it will be a large and developed settlement with thousands of residents, education institutions and a strong community, adding, "The people of Israel are coming home to northern Samaria. After 21 years of struggle, justice is winning."
Dagan thanked ministers Israel Katz and Bezalel Smotrich, the Amana movement and its secretary-general Ze'ev Hever, the Settlement Administration, the Civil Administration, Central Command, all government bodies, and the pioneering residents building the new settlements in northern Samaria.
