Dadi Simhi Says Deal With Gantz Is Set, Seeks Broad Zionist Bloc

Retired brigadier general Dadi Simhi said in an interview with Noa Drori on i24NEWS Friday that he approached Benny Gantz several months ago to advance a shared leadership arrangement. He said the goal is to build a unifying bloc that could lead to a broad Zionist government.

Simhi, a former Fire and Rescue Services commissioner who lost his son, described as a Hero of Israel, on October 7, said he believes the public wants a wide national coalition. “I contacted Benny a few months ago. The most important thing in the world is to create a bloc that connects, the people want a broad Zionist government,” he said.

He added that, in his view, the political framework should stretch “from Ben Gvir to Yair Golan,” underscoring his call for the widest possible alliance. Simhi also said he is a “clear and unequivocal right-winger,” even as he pushes for cooperation beyond the traditional camp lines.

The remarks came amid talks about a possible merger involving Gantz and Yoaz Hendel. Simhi did not provide further details on timing or structure, but said the main objective remains establishing a shared leadership that can form a broad governing bloc.
