Dadi Simchi: 'Benny Gantz and I Are Not Merging, We’re Building Something New'
Retired Brig. Gen. Dadi Simchi said on Friday in an interview with Kan News on Reshet Bet that he and Benny Gantz are in advanced talks to launch a new political initiative, but not to merge into one list. He said the two have been speaking for months and have met many times, adding that they believe they can do good things together.
Simchi said they also approached Yoaz, saying he brings important qualities, and noted that Hili Tropper had just left Gantz, which makes the situation more complex. “We will choose good people,” he said, stressing, “We are not uniting, we are building something new.”
He said the talks are still not finalized, but that he is “very optimistic.” When asked whether Benjamin Netanyahu wanted him guaranteed a reserved spot on the Likud list, Simchi replied that he had received “good offers” from both Likud and others.
