Noam Yaacov Officially Joins the University of Utah
Noam Yaacov has officially signed with the University of Utah and will begin playing there in the upcoming season, the school announced on its social media accounts. Yaacov, who played for Ostend in Belgium after leaving Hapoel Tel Aviv, had committed to Utah about two months ago and is now heading to NCAA basketball after going undrafted in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Yaacov had hoped to hear his name called in the draft on Friday, but when that did not happen, he followed through on the college commitment he made earlier. His move adds him to the growing list of Israelis playing in the NCAA.
During his time at Ostend, Yaacov averaged 18.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game. He shot 50% from the field and 39% from three-point range.
Ostend lost the Belgian championship to Antwerp in a five-game series. Yaacov scored 19 points in the deciding game, but missed a crucial shot near the end.
