IDF reports a week of strikes, arrests and interdictions across multiple fronts
The IDF said on Friday that its forces carried out wide-ranging operations this week in several theaters, while continuing efforts to remove threats to Israeli civilians in the north, south, Judea and Samaria, and along the borders. The military said more than 10 militants were killed in Gaza, six strikes were carried out in Lebanon, over 100 wanted suspects were arrested in the West Bank, and a drug smuggling attempt was foiled.
In the Northern Command, ground activity continued in the security zone in southern Lebanon. Over the past week, the Air Force and ground forces conducted six strikes against militants described as a threat to troops operating in the area.
In the Southern Command, the army kept working to locate and destroy Hamas underground infrastructure, with a focus on Khan Younis. The IDF said more than 10 militants were killed during the week, including operatives involved in rebuilding Hamas infrastructure and militants who took part in the October 7 terror attack.
In the Central Command, forces carried out dozens of operations across Judea and Samaria. One militant involved in terror activity and arms trafficking was killed, and more than 100 wanted individuals were detained, including Hamas operatives, suspects in stone throwing and firebomb attacks, and suspects in possession or trafficking of weapons. The forces also seized seven drones, combat gear, incitement materials, ammunition and more than 10 weapons, including pistols, M-16 rifles and improvised Carlo-style guns. Along the borders, troops also stopped a smuggling attempt of about 10 kilograms of drugs in the Dead Sea sector, as part of broader efforts to strengthen security on the eastern and western borders.
