IDF Says More Than 10 Militants Killed in Gaza, Over 100 Suspects Arrested in West Bank
The Israel Defense Forces said its forces operated across multiple fronts over the past week, killing more than 10 militants in the Gaza Strip, carrying out six strikes in southern Lebanon, arresting more than 100 wanted suspects in Judea and Samaria, and stopping a smuggling attempt on the eastern border.
According to the military, the southern command continued systematic digging operations to locate and destroy underground routes, with a focus on the Khan Younis area. The army said the Gaza operations targeted Hamas infrastructure and sought to prevent the group from reconstituting, including militants involved in rebuilding Hamas assets and others who took part in the October 7 assault.
In northern Israel and southern Lebanon, the IDF said the air force and ground forces struck militants who posed a threat to troops operating in the area. The strikes came amid what the army described as ongoing Hezbollah threats and continued operational activity in southern Lebanon. The forces said they are maintaining freedom of action to defend themselves against immediate threats.
In Judea and Samaria, the central command carried out dozens of operations that led to the killing of one militant involved in terrorism and arms trafficking, and the arrest of more than 100 wanted suspects. Those detained included people linked to Hamas, stone throwers, Molotov cocktail throwers, and suspects accused of possessing and trading weapons. Forces also seized seven drones, combat gear, incitement materials, ammunition, and more than 10 weapons, including pistols, M-16 rifles and improvised Carlo guns.
Separately, the army said it foiled a smuggling attempt of about 10 kilograms of drugs in the Dead Sea sector. It said the anti-smuggling effort is part of a broader campaign to stop weapons, drugs and money from reaching terrorist groups.
