Iran Warns It May Respond to Israeli Military Flights Over Neighboring States
Iran’s Hatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said on Friday that Israeli military aircraft flying over some neighboring countries on their way toward Iran are a “dangerous move” and a threat to the Islamic Republic. In its statement, the command said, “If the United States is not able to restrain and control the Zionist regime, the Islamic Republic of Iran will not tolerate any threat against it, and it considers itself entitled to respond to these dangerous steps.”
Iran’s Foreign Ministry also criticized the joint statement issued yesterday by the United States and Gulf states, calling the positions in it “interfering, irresponsible and provocative.” The ministry separately addressed the Strait of Hormuz, saying that “what was agreed in article 5 of the memorandum of understanding is the binding basis for managing maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.”
