Vishnitz Rebbe Leads Dedication of New London Yeshiva Building and Torah Scroll Procession
A major celebration was held in London for the dedication of the new building of the young men’s yeshiva Yeshivas Yeshuos Moshe, led by the Vishnitz Rebbe, together with the הכנסת ספר תורה, the הכנסת of a new Torah scroll. The scroll was written and donated by the philanthropist Rabbi Yisrael Shalom Toyb. Thousands of Hasidim, yeshiva students, rebbes, rabbis, donors, and public figures attended the event in honor of Torah study.
The festive procession began at the home of businessman and community activist Rabbi Yisrael Walzer, a prominent figure in the London Haredi community. From there, participants marched with a band and dancing toward the new yeshiva building. At the plaza by the yeshiva, large crowds welcomed the procession with singing and dancing to mark the house dedication, which organizers said would become a place for Torah, prayer, and Hasidic life.
When he arrived at the building, the Vishnitz Rebbe recited the customary psalm, “לדוד מזמור לה' הארץ ומלואה,” used at a Torah scroll dedication. His son, Rabbi Chaim Meir Hager, recited “מזמור לדוד.” The Rebbe then danced with the donor and the family members, and later toured the new building, expressing satisfaction with the “magnificent Torah hall” built for the students’ benefit.
After the ceremony at the yeshiva, the crowd moved to the Yisodei HaTorah hall for a festive meal in honor of the Torah and the dedication. Rabbis spoke about the importance of expanding Torah institutions and praised the donors and supporters who helped build the new facility and bring in the Torah scroll. Participants included Rabbi Shalom Friedman, Deputy Chief Rabbi of London; Rabbi Yosef Padwa, head of the London rabbinical court; Rabbi Naphthali Elimelech Leizer of Pshevorsk; Rabbi Shmuel Binyamin Krois; and several Hasidic rebbes from other courts.
