Three Wendy's workers arrested after customer was allegedly served food from a trash can

Three employees at a Wendy's branch in Union, South Carolina, were arrested on suspicion of involvement in an unusual incident in which a customer was allegedly given food taken from the trash. According to a report cited by Ynet, the episode took place on May 31 after a woman who had ordered through the drive-thru complained about her meal and asked for a refund.

She was then offered a remake of the order and left with what she believed was a fresh replacement. Shortly after leaving the restaurant, she received a call from someone at the location who allegedly told her that one worker had pulled the food from the trash and put it back into the packaging.

When she checked the meal, she said she realized it was the same food she had received earlier. She contacted police and reported the incident. The customer also spoke with the branch manager, who said he had checked the claims with employees and that those involved had received a written reprimand.

The three suspects were arrested separately between June 16 and June 22. At this stage, they are only suspected of involvement, and the investigation is still ongoing. The case has caused a public uproar in the United States because of the seriousness of the allegations and the possible damage to trust in a major fast-food chain.
