Religious preparatory school leaders say students will enlist in the Armored Corps in August
Leaders of the hesder yeshivas said that, following a meeting this week with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and other senior military officers, their students will enlist in the Armored Corps this coming August. The decision was made after the issue was discussed in a general assembly.
According to the yeshiva heads, the meeting with Zamir and the senior IDF officials covered the problems involved in implementing the military’s joint service order and the need to ensure that any observant soldier can serve according to his faith and values. They said the discussion also included principles for solving the problems and ways to put those principles into practice.
