IDF Denies Reuters Report of Withdrawal From South Lebanon
The IDF rejected a Reuters report on Thursday that its forces had begun withdrawing in southern Lebanon. Senior military sources said the report was entirely false and stressed that no Israeli force had moved anywhere.
According to those officials, the army had not received any instruction from the political leadership at this stage. The denial came in response to the wire service’s claim that an Israeli pullback had started in the south of Lebanon.
The military did not announce any change in its deployment or operational posture, and no withdrawal order was said to be in effect.
