Hapoel Holon has officially brought back 27-year-old guard Shahar Amir, who just completed a breakthrough season with Hapoel Galil Elyon and helped keep the team in the league. Amir posted career highs of 12.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game this season.
After signing, Amir said he was excited to complete the circle and return to what he called his “purple family.” He added, “I can’t wait to get on the court and fight for the crowd and the club, which is like a home for me.”
Club chairman Eitan Lanciiano said Holon loved Amir even during his previous spell with the team and is happy to bring him “home” again, this time as a more mature, leading player who fits the club’s identity and the coach’s approach. He also congratulated Amir on his marriage and return on the same day.
The move was announced on June 25, 2026, at 11:14, and was reported by Sport 5. Amir’s transfer comes after his key role in Hapoel Galil Elyon’s survival in the top division.
