Hapoel Holon has officially brought back Shahar Amir, 27, after he helped Hapoel Galil Upper stay in the league. Amir is coming off the best season of his career, averaging 12.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game, and was a key factor in Galil Upper’s survival.
After signing, Amir said he was “very excited to close a circle and return to the purple family that entered my heart.” He added that he cannot wait “to get on the court and fight for the crowd and the club, which is like a home for me.”
Club chairman Itay Lanziaano said the team loved Amir “from his previous spell with us” and were happy to bring him back “home,” this time as a more mature and leading player who fits “the DNA of Holon and the coach.” He also marked it as a double celebration, referring to “Mika and Shahar” and wishing congratulations on their marriage and his return.
