TV host Shi-Lee Shindler and dancer Nadav Shaham were eliminated on Wednesday night from the Israeli show "Dancing with the Stars" after just three dances. In an interview with Guy Pines right after leaving the floor for the last time, they used the moment to respond to harsh criticism from judge David Dvir, who had said her body was not built for dance.
Shindler said she and Shaham loved the dance and enjoyed working on it, adding that it was disappointing the judges saw it differently. She pushed back directly on Dvir's comments, saying, "My dignity was not hurt, and my dignity does not depend on David Dvir, he can say whatever he wants." She noted that he later came to apologize, but asked, "What does that help me?" She added that "he is making television, we are making television, and we came to entertain the viewers at home."
Shaham also rejected the judge's remarks, saying, "That was not a constructive comment." He said they prefer feedback that can be worked with, but since they are already not continuing in the competition, they are taking everything in proportion.
Shindler also reflected on what the competition taught her about herself. She said her psychologist has tried to teach her certain lessons for 11 years, but the show did it in a month. She said she learned that she gets frustrated in rehearsal and tends to give up after failing at something for a while, crying and feeling discouraged. Shaham, she said, taught her patiently and with understanding how to succeed, how to be disappointed, and how to recover quickly.
