TV host Shai-Lee Shinder and dancer Nadav Shacham were eliminated from "Dancing with the Stars" after only three dances, ending their run on Wednesday. They spoke to Guy Pines immediately after leaving the stage and used the interview to respond to harsh criticism from judge David Dvir, who said her body was not built for dance.
Shinder said they enjoyed the routine and were disappointed the judges saw it differently. "My dignity was not hurt and my dignity does not depend on David Dvir, he can say whatever he wants," she said. She added that Dvir later apologized, but that it did not help her: "He makes television, we make television, and we came to entertain the viewers at home."
Shacham also pushed back, saying Dvir's remark was not constructive. He said they prefer comments that can actually be worked with, but since they were already out of the competition, they would keep everything in perspective.
Shinder also reflected on what she learned during the month-long process. She said her psychologist had tried for 11 years to teach her things that the show taught her in one month, including that she tends to give up when she cannot master something quickly. She said she would break down, cry, and feel frustrated with herself, and credited Shacham with teaching her, patiently and with empathy, how to succeed, how to be disappointed, and how to recover quickly.
