A truck driver struck the car of Yaki Adamker, a panelist on "The Patriots," on Wednesday during severe traffic disruptions tied to the ultra-Orthodox “car protest” against the arrest of yeshiva students. The incident happened as the protest caused major congestion on central highways and raised tensions at multiple locations.
According to the report, the demonstration began at 4:00 p.m., when hundreds of vehicles started moving slowly and blocking major routes on the way to "Prison 10." The action caused heavy disruptions on Highway 1 and Highway 6, two of the country’s main traffic arteries.
Police said they were operating at several sites in an effort to prevent a total closure of the roads and keep traffic flowing. During the protest, severe clashes broke out in multiple places between ultra-Orthodox demonstrators and passersby or drivers trapped in traffic jams.
In one case, the deputy mayor of Beitar Illit was attacked, injured, and taken for medical treatment. The report describes the truck driver as Arab, but gives no further details about the collision or whether anyone was hurt in the crash.
