Ami Group buys Planet Rishon LeZion for NIS 300 million

Translated & summarized from Calcalist by baba
The story · English

Ami Group, owned by businessman Shlomi Nachaisi, has bought the Planet Rishon LeZion complex from Israel Theaters Group for NIS 300 million. The site will be renamed Ami Planet.

The complex opened in July 2012 after more than NIS 200 million was invested in it. It is located in western Rishon LeZion, near Superland, and covers about 30 dunams with roughly 25,000 square meters of built space.

The property includes 26 halls, of which 24 are movie theaters with about 3,600 seats, plus two halls for events and conferences. It also has around 2,000 parking spaces.

Nachaisi called the purchase a major strategic deal for the group and said Ami Group intends to use about 10,000 additional square meters of existing zoning rights to expand the project and add value for visitors, tenants, and the company. Ami Planet will be Ami Group’s 18th commercial complex and its third with cinemas. About a year ago, the group also bought the former Y-Center in Netanya, now Ami Commercial Centers Netanya Poleg, in a deal estimated at about NIS 330 million.
