Hundreds of managers and employees of L’Oréal Israel took part on Tuesday in a volunteer day at nine locations across the country, as part of the company’s “Good Citizenship Day.” The staff devoted a full workday to social and environmental volunteering, totaling about 2,000 volunteer hours.
The annual effort, now in its 16th year, involved all employees from the company’s headquarters in Netanya and its logistics center in Caesarea. Volunteers were deployed to projects supporting women in vulnerable situations, people with disabilities, multigenerational social solidarity, beach cleanups, and packing food baskets for families in need.
Activities began early in the morning in cooperation with social and environmental organizations that have long-term ties with L’Oréal Israel. One highlight was “Beauty on the Road,” held at L’Oréal Israel’s volunteer beauty salon at the Hodisman Cancer Center’s leisure facility at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer. The center, founded by L’Oréal Israel in 2018, provides free beauty treatments for patients, including facial care, nail polish, and makeup. Since its launch, about 8,000 women have benefited from the service.
L’Oréal Israel CEO Eli Shagiv said that “real impact is created when successful businesses work consistently for society and the environment” and that the day reflects a corporate culture in which social responsibility is part of business. The nine volunteer sites also included Yad Sarah, Netanya’s Hader adult day center, the Ma’ash rehabilitation center in Netanya, Kfar Idud in Netanya, EcoOcean, the Mershal center for the blind and visually impaired in Netanya, and food collection efforts with Leket Israel and Netina.
