The IDF said it struck and destroyed four rocket launch positions in several areas of the Gaza Strip overnight Tuesday. According to the military, the launchers had been set up recently by terrorist groups in clear violation of the ceasefire understandings.
The IDF said the sites were ready to fire at Israeli troops operating inside Gaza and at civilians in Israel, and therefore were considered an immediate threat that had to be removed quickly. The operation was part of a broader wave of IDF strikes in recent days aimed at eliminating threats and enforcing the ceasefire terms.
Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area under the ceasefire agreement, but continue to carry out targeted actions against any immediate danger. Over the weekend, the IDF also killed several senior militants in separate operations after they were found to be working to undermine the agreement.
