Monaco captured the French championship on Monday after a dramatic comeback over Paris in the decisive fifth game of the final series, winning 101-92 to take the title 3-2. The club from the principality erased a difficult season’s struggles with a huge fourth-quarter surge, outscoring Paris 28-11 in the last period and reclaiming the crown after Paris won last season’s championship.
The game was tight early, then Monaco built a nine-point lead in the second quarter. Paris answered with a strong run and closed the third quarter up by eight, seemingly in control heading into the final frame. Monaco then opened the fourth with a 12-0 burst, seized the lead, and never gave it back.
Jaron Blossomgame delivered one of the best performances of his career with 27 points. Juhann Begarin added 18 points and nine rebounds, while Elie Okobo produced 12 points and 15 assists. For Paris, Justin Robinson scored 12 points and handed out five assists, but it was not enough to stop Monaco’s comeback.
The win gave Monaco its third championship in four years. Paris will remain in the EuroLeague next season, while Monaco’s future is less certain, with most reports indicating that it is currently expected to start the 2026/27 season in the EuroCup as it works to complete its financial recovery plan and hopes to return to the EuroLeague later.
