During Operation Iron Net in Tel Sheva, police executed a search warrant for weapons and drugs and on Friday night broke into a kindergarten after hearing a 4-year-old girl crying from inside the building. Officers found her locked alone in the daycare, rescued her, and handed her back to her worried parents.
After the rescue, investigators searched the compound and said they found three bags of suspected drugs weighing about 234 grams in total, a slab of suspected hashish weighing about 178 grams, a bag of white suspected drug weighing about 80 grams, and a magazine for an M16 rifle.
The operation was carried out by officers from the Ayerot Station in the Rotem District, together with fighters from the Sahar and Yoav units. Police said all of the evidence was transferred for further handling and investigation.
Ayerot Station commander Chief Superintendent Yehav Siman said police were active against criminal elements and showed alertness even when a young child was at risk. He said the rescue of the girl and the seizure of the drugs reflected the force’s commitment to protecting human life, public safety, and an uncompromising fight against crime.
