Hapoel Jerusalem has officially released guard Cassius Winston after a disappointing first season with the club. The announcement came on June 23, 2026, and the team said it will not keep him for next season.
Winston arrived at the start of the year on a one-season deal, but he was unable to maintain consistency throughout the campaign. The club’s move comes as Sasha Obradovic has recently joined and begun shaping the roster for next season.
In its farewell message, Hapoel Jerusalem wrote: "Today we part ways with Cassius Winston, who will not continue with us next season. Cash, thank you for your professionalism, your commitment and the heart you left on the court every moment."
Winston’s contract was worth about $350,000. Hapoel Jerusalem has already announced another guard signing, Jalen Smith, who has extensive experience in Europe.
