Israel's Health Ministry and Environmental Protection Ministry said on Wednesday that recent abnormal water-quality samples found in several northern streams indicate swimming or entering them may be dangerous. The warning covers the Banias near the Kfar Szold Bridge, the Hatzbani from Magen HaTzafon to the Nahal Mifgash promenade, the Jordan River from the Joseph Bridge to the Arik Bridge, Meshushim Pool, the Gilbon, Zaki, Yehudia, and the Tzalmon stream near the flour mill.
The ministries issued the alert after testing showed elevated contamination levels in those waterways. The Environmental Protection Ministry said it has not identified the source of the pollution.
No closure was announced, but the public was warned that access could pose a health risk until the situation changes.
