WhatsApp is refreshing its iPhone design, and the biggest change so far is the addition of a Liquid Glass interface inside chat screens. According to WABetaInfo, the new look has begun reaching some iOS beta testers and is expected to expand gradually to more users worldwide.
The most visible change is the message input bar, which is no longer fixed at the bottom of the screen. Instead, it now appears as a floating, semi-transparent layer above the conversation, letting users see more of the chat and giving the interface a lighter sense of depth. The chat bar background has also been updated with a glass-like effect that faintly reflects messages and the wallpaper behind it.
Other interface controls, including the button used to jump to the latest messages, have been redesigned to match the new style. The top navigation bar has also become more transparent and now aligns more closely with the visual language of iOS 26, with the goal of making WhatsApp feel more integrated with the operating system and reducing the sense of separate layers in the conversation view.
At this stage, Liquid Glass is available to some beta testers in version 26.25.10.16, but reports say it is also reaching some users on the latest stable App Store release. The rollout is gradual, so users who do not see the redesign yet should receive it in the coming weeks as part of a routine WhatsApp update.
