Sharp confrontation disrupts science and security conference at Lev Academic Center
A heated exchange broke out during the Lev Conference on Science, Technology and Security at the Lev Academic Center, where bereaved father Eyal Eshel interrupted a speech by retired Major General Yaakov Amidror. Eshel is the father of Roni Eshel, the IDF observer killed in the October 7 massacre.
Eshel stopped Amidror mid-lecture and demanded a disclosure before the talk continued. He said Amidror should state that his son was involved in the failures of October 7. Amidror replied, “He is an adult, I am not responsible for his actions and he is not responsible for mine.”
Eshel continued to disrupt the conference after that, while some attendees objected and told him to stop. The argument escalated as Amidror told him, “If you think my analysis is not good, don’t listen to it, I did not force anyone to listen to me. Stop talking nonsense, are you done interrupting?”
Eshel answered, “Shame on you,” and Amidror fired back, “Shame on you.”
