  • Thousands gathered for a priestly blessing at the Western Wall.
  • The ceremony included prayers for soldiers and national unity.
  • Congregation recited a Psalm of Thanksgiving for a foiled terror attempt.
  • The event followed a Fly Dubai flight incident.
  • The ceremony is part of Sukkot holiday traditions.

Tens of thousands of worshippers gathered at the Western Wall in Jerusalem on Thursday for the second priestly blessing ceremony of Sukkot's intermediate days (Chol Hamoed). During the event, prayers were offered for the safety of IDF soldiers and security forces, for the recovery of the wounded, and for the unity and security of the Israeli people.

The Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, led the congregation in reciting "Mizmor Letoda" (A Psalm of Thanksgiving). This was done to express gratitude for the "great miracle" of thwarting a potential terror attack on a Fly Dubai flight the previous day.

The first priestly blessing ceremony on Monday also drew tens of thousands, including government ministers, the mayor of Jerusalem, the police commissioner, and survivors and bereaved families from the recent conflict.
