Ex-Navy Commander Calls for Netanyahu Firing Squad in WhatsApp Chats

A former senior naval officer, retired Colonel Miki Keisari, has called for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to face a firing squad, according to reports from Channel 14. Keisari, who previously commanded the Dolphin-class submarine flotilla and currently chairs the Navy Officers Alumni Association, expressed these views in WhatsApp group discussions. He reportedly described Netanyahu as a traitor and stated that the only solution is a firing squad, even sending an AI-generated image depicting Netanyahu and his associates attacking Israeli citizens.

Keisari's comments surfaced amidst ongoing protests against Netanyahu by groups like Brothers in Arms. He allegedly wrote multiple times that Netanyahu should stand before a firing squad, justifying this by claiming the prime minister's actions constitute treason, which warrants the death penalty. Keisari also reportedly participated in a group of former naval officers who called for an investigation into the submarine affair.

Channel 14 highlighted Keisari's prominent role, noting he heads a respected association that collaborates with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and that he himself lectures within the military and awards scholarships to officers. When approached for comment regarding his statements against the prime minister and his wishes for his death, Keisari declined, referring to the news outlet as a "poison channel."
