Eurovision Star Noam De"a Discusses Spiritual Journey

Israeli singer Noam De"a, who gained international fame after finishing second in the Eurovision Song Contest, has opened up about his personal spiritual journey. De"a, who previously made a name for himself on the reality competition "The Star Next Star," discussed his evolving connection with God in a podcast interview with Ben Ben Baruch.

De"a described his relationship with God as deeply personal and ongoing, stating, "I am very connected, I talk to him all the time." While he expressed a strong desire to observe Kashrut (dietary laws) soon and acknowledged wanting to do "many things," he clarified that his spiritual path is not defined by traditional religious observance. "I don't look at it from a religious place, I look at it from a Jewish place," he explained.

He emphasized that his spiritual choices are guided by his personal feelings and his direct connection to the divine. De"a stated that if he feels an action, even one aligned with Halakha (Jewish law), distances him from God or feels wrong, he will not pursue it. "I prefer to do things that bring me closer to him," he said.

Regarding Shabbat observance, De"a indicated he prefers to progress at his own pace, rather than forcing himself into practices that do not currently feel right. "So, let's say observing Shabbat now would make me feel bad and it would harm my connection with him, maybe then it's not the time yet. I listen to myself," he explained.

De"a concluded by reflecting that a search for meaning has always been a part of him, describing himself as a curious child with many questions and a "very noisy inner world." He feels he is now entering a new phase, stating, "I feel like I am going through a stage."
