Israel Prepares Reception for Flydubai Passengers After Mid-Air Incident
Israel's Home Front Command is establishing a dedicated phone hotline for families of passengers aboard a Flydubai flight that experienced an unusual incident en route from Dubai to Israel. The command is also preparing a reception system at the landing airport, which will include social workers and other professionals to provide support and information to passengers and their relatives upon arrival.
This comprehensive preparation follows an incident that occurred earlier on Wednesday, causing the flight to land in Saudi Arabia. The reception area will be staffed by various professionals to offer guidance and assistance as passengers return to Israel. Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency medical services are also on standby to assess passengers' conditions and provide medical treatment if necessary.
In parallel, the Schneider Children's Medical Center has opened an emotional support hotline for children and families who were on the flight, as well as for those affected by the news. The hospital noted that reactions such as fear, sleep difficulties, crying, or clinginess can occur even after returning to a safe environment.
The extensive preparations are underway as the focus shifts from the incident itself to ensuring the safe return and reception of the passengers, including providing support for their waiting families.
