News Reporter Sparks Controversy With Tweet About Dubai Flight Incident

Channel 12 reporter Michal Activist deleted a tweet she posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, following an unusual incident on a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv. Initially, reports suggested a violent altercation between the pilots. Activist's deleted tweet stated that such an event "would not have happened to women."

Later, as more details emerged about the circumstances, Activist explained her decision to delete the post. "I deleted the tweet I wrote because Twitter is a toxic place, and even though it was written when we still thought it was an event of violent fights between pilots, people are looking for places to lie and ride," she wrote. Activist also added a further comment regarding her earlier remarks about women: "By the way, for another day when things are a bit calmer here, we will examine why people get so stressed by the opinion that women should run the world."

The original tweet and its deletion occurred against the backdrop of developments concerning Flydubai flight FZ1073, which departed from Dubai en route to Tel Aviv. During the flight, emergency signals were broadcast, and the aircraft was diverted to land in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. The airline confirmed that the plane landed safely and all passengers are secure.

Early reports indicated a dispute between the pilots led to the drama. However, Reuters later reported, citing two Israeli sources, that the assessment was that one pilot stabbed the captain and that Israel is examining the possibility of a terror attack attempt. The circumstances of the incident are still under investigation, and Flydubai itself has not confirmed the stabbing reports.
