Israel Awaits Saudi Approval for FlyDubai Passenger Evacuation
Saudi Arabian authorities have not yet granted permission for Israeli military transport aircraft to land and evacuate passengers from a FlyDubai flight, according to Kan news. The flight, FlyDubai FZ1073, is currently in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, with passengers needing to be transported to Israel.
Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz had ordered the preparation of a military evacuation for the passengers. The Israeli Air Force had readied three Hercules aircraft, but their departure is contingent on Saudi consent.
Concurrently, FlyDubai announced its readiness to dispatch another aircraft from Dubai to transport the passengers to Israel. The Prime Minister's Office stated that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure their safe return.
