Rahib Idris, a 67-year-old resident of Tamra, was the man shot dead on Route 70 near the Ka'abiyye Junction in the Western Galilee. According to the suspicion being examined, Idris was killed because a relative of his served as a state witness in a case against the Bakri crime organization.
The killing adds to the continuing wave of deadly violence in Israel's Arab community. Since the start of the year, 133 people in that community have been murdered.
